The Turkey Run provides a turkey and fixings to the families of the Soldier Recovery Unit (formerly the Warrior Transition Battalion), and other military families in need. This year, our goal is to provide food for 600 families. Volunteers are needed to gather food as well as distribute the food at Fort Riley. Breakfast and lunch is provided for a free will donation. The volunteers will be able to show the face of The American Legion when they load the food into cars for those needing assistance. The flyer shows the donations provided by each Chapter/Post.
Monetary donations to support this program may be sent to Department Headquarters. Please make checks payable to: Kansas Department of The American Legion. Be sure to indicate “Turkey Run” on the check.
